Course Name:
Programming for IPv6
Course Duration:
Four days
Course Description:
The greatest advantages of IPv6 will not be realized solely from
enablement within the network topology, but rather by how applications
and programs leverage the myriad features of IPv6. This course provides
developers with an overview of the IPv6 protocol and how the APIs have
been modified to support IPv6. Coupled with numerous in-class
development experiments, the Programming with IPv6 course puts
developers on the path to creating the next killer app with IPv6!
Content Overview:
Subject materials covered includes IPv6 fundamentals, IPv6 addressing
structures, DNS and security within the IPv6 paradigm, API
modifications, integration methods, existing IPv6 porting tools,
developing protocol independent programs, programming and utilizing the
IPv6 extension headers, and design considerations for the IPv6 socket
API. This material is accompanied by extensive lab experience designed
to provide participants hands-on experience with the IPv6 API and
porting tools.
Intended Audience:
This course will benefit programmers, application developers, and
application architects who will be responsible for developing programs
and porting existing code to work in an IPv6 environment. Lab exercises
